So I've been thinking lately and I want a new jacket but I'm picky. I'm looking for something to ride in that would also look good as an everyday jacket and not have everyone go " O thats a motorcycle jacket". Harley has some nice ones with removable padding and such but it all says harley all over it. I'm looking for black leather with a tab collar and possibly some vents in it. Any one know where I can go and try jackets on because I refuse to buy online unless I've already tried it on in a store somewhere. I want to make sure it fits and not have the sleeves slide way up when I put my hand on the bars. I'm even willing to go somewhere and have it custom tailored and am trying to keep it around 300 bucks if possible.

Go by A&M leather on Eureka just west of middlebelt... out by the airport. You should be able to find something there.

Try Boomers in Waterford off of Dixie Hwy.
Warning....... Most of his stuff is black leather for traditional riders.

Went to A&M leather today and got a real nice jacket. spent a little more than I originally wanted but its american made and I like it alot. Had everything I was looking for and the owner has the same except his is 20 years old and looks damn good still. I really recommend checking him out plus he does hats and shirts and stuff too.

that is a good idea - multi-purpose jacket. Next time I buy one I will remember that.

No link because he doesn't have a site. But if you go check it out you won't be disappointed, lots of options there. Its a real nice heavy jacket with vents and it fits perfect. If it didn't they do alterations and can make it fit good.

older thread but what the hell lol

i stopped in leather depo today to "look" at leather pant's, i'm sick of freezing my nuts off with chap's. right off the bat found some nice pant's at a decent price. i've been wanting a new coat, after 15 years with my old one it's time. so after trying on a bunch of different one's, i found Reed's coats are the cats ass. so nice and fit me really well. then i wanted to look at the vest's, my old one is at least 10 years old and starting to show it. so $600 later i walked out with a killer coat, vest & pants. i just stopped to look at some pants

the best part was jumping on the bike and thinking i look good, then it hit me... i look like a mid life crisis guy now :help:

F.W.I.W. Leatherworks on Van Dyke just north of 26 mile road folded a year or so ago. Chuck now works over at Wolverine in bike sales, his sister is in parts.
