View Full Version : Save Ace - A Life or Death Situation

11-09-2011, 12:10 AM
I read about this story on Facebook just last night, apparently many organizations including the Detroit Humane Society and Detroit Dog Rescue have stepped forward and organized funds to take him in and nurse him back to health but Detroit Animal Control will not release Ace http://www.redlinesuperbike.com/forums/images/smilies/FacePalm.gif he is scheduled to be euthanized this Friday. Why can't he be rescued? Simply because, Ace is a Pit Bull and Detroit Animal Control has a strict "no adoption" or rescue policy for bully breed dogs.

If you wish to help you could sign this petition:

If you're on Facebook search "Save Ace" there has been a fan page set up in effort to try and save him...

I hope this works out and Ace is able to move on to a happier life...

Despite a petition, court order, and many other efforts to save Ace, he was euthanized today. It sickens me that this had to occur when there were so many people trying so hard to help.

Not only is it a poor policy but it's BS that they automatcially label these dogs the way they do. Not all bully breed dogs make poor pets.

There is also a national petition on Whitehouse.gov to change the way that dogs, especially Pit Bulls are dealt with in shelters. Please read and sign if you agree with it, it takes less than 3 minutes to register and sign. Not to mention it's for a good cause.

Here is the link: https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petition...s-act/XLLS4srL (https://wwws.whitehouse.gov/petitions#%21/petition/aces-law-animal-welfare-rights-act/XLLS4srL)

I adopted two pit bulls from the Ann Arbor Humane shelter and these guys are couch potatoes but they have that look and people shy away that don't know them.
