A "Ducati" powered chopper-

I saw a TV show about these guys recently, and they take new Ducs, (1098, Monsters, etc) and pull the engine, forks, brakes, and some other misc bits and then custom build a chopper around it. Some of their stuff looks pretty cool, and would definitely be different than the other custom's on the road.

Sportsters handle pretty well for a cruiser style bike. LOL

That's pretty much identical to what my wife said when she saw them on TV with me. She was not happy seeing them cutting up new Duc's to build those. LOL

They look cool.* I would not buy one simply for the reasons listed above, but to each their own.

Prices starting at $230,000 and the "RR" models come with a Ti wristwatch. The frames are handmade from Ti tubing, (takes 30 days alone), and the engines are FI, inter-cooled and supercharged.

230 what???? To ride around in this city I don't think so.

12-01-2008, 08:53 AM
I know it.* ::)

Those are Jay Leno/Brad Pitt/Tom Cruise bikes.

The "RR" model with the "free" Ti watch is $275,000.* :o* Seems to me you should get something more than a watch for that price. LOL

Ah that first bike, Ducati/Chopper, I gotta agree...what a waste of totally good ducati 1098. These bikes are ment for wet dreams and pure sex, they totally dis configure the art of a superbike. Basically what they did was take a ferrari and turned it into a civic, powered by a vette powerplant. I guess thats one way to waste 20K :'(
But for the Ducati DESMOSEDICI RR. I'd give my left testicle to own one of those.* ;D

I love almost all bikes, but some of em are just over the top. When they stop being functional, rideable bikes, I completely lose interest. You can tell which builders actually have a passion for riding, and which ones are just posers. Talented, nonetheless, but they're in the wrong form of art. World's most beautiful bike? That's a joke. It's an exaggeration of something that's already been way overdone. Try sellin it. Ya can't ride a trophy. Except for the Heretic.

Confederate Motorcycles, designed and built down in Alabama. These are high priced Tom Cruise, Jay Leno, Brad Pitt, (etc) type bikes. Different, ugly, expensive. Expensive as in $250-$300,000 range.

Doug, you da man, you obviously have as many bike pics as I do. I don't know why I've got something against Confederate, but I do. I read an interview that one of the bike mags had with the main guy there, and it was full of cliches, one line of BS after another. The premise is cool, take a big motor and build a bike around it, but they just fell apart from there. Weird looking, ill-purposed bikes, with impressive hp numbers, but they didn't build the motor, they just spared no expense making it ugly, like the designers forgot to take their ridalin. I've read some of the unbiased riding impressions, and they agree that the total package is unreliable and just doesn't work well, especially at those prices. But hey, if you have the money and want the exclusivity, no one will know the wiser that you wasted your money, ha ha.

I agree, and think I've read that same article.
