A little chlorine for the gene pool....

FOWLERVILLE, Mich. -- Authorities said a 20-year-old motorcyclist has died after crashing into the rear of a police cruiser on Interstate 96 during a chase in Livingston County.

In a release, Sheriff Bob Bezotte said the crash occurred about 4:30 a.m. Tuesday near Folwerville after a sheriff's deputy clocked Carl Albert Stamm IV traveling at 104 mph. He said a second deputy's radar showed him at 114 mph.

Bezotte said the department alerted Fowlerville police and the two deputies tried to catch the East Lansing motorcyclist, who sped up to 130 mph. Bezotte said a Fowlerville officer got on the interstate ahead of the motorcyclist and the patrol car was struck.

Authorities closed part of westbound I-96 about 50 miles northwest of Detroit for the investigation.

Most likely, but then again at 130 MPH the kid wasn't there, then he was.

And, I don't really care. No sympathy from me on this one except for his family. If a cop lights you up, just keep it simple and pull over. You aren't going to outrun his radio. I guess losing his license was worse than losing his life.

My past rocket days on running... if the car is directly behind me with lights... shut er down.

If I go past them going 1XXmph then better twist that right wrist... bye bye

But you also need to be able to back up your play. Don't be a noob and try 130+ speeds. Just stupid!

This totally is what happened!!! Cop cut him off, whether in intentional or not, he did. I'd almost bet on it.

The lights are flashing, you can see them way before the kid got there. Cut him off? No way. In front of him? Yes. The idea being for him to stop. He didn't.

The kid was stupid , and so were the cops . They had his license number so getting him at a later date would not be a problem . If they would have let him go he would be alive today . Not only that , these high speed chases often lead to the deaths of innocent by standers . Personally I would fire the cop for not backing off .
