Since I was looking for a 2nd drain plug for my bike so I can drill and wire it,
where do you guys get your magnetic drain plugs?

This is a site I found...

Nice.. thanks for sharing.. also Lockhart Phillips makes a pre-drilled drain plug that is magnetic as well..

Hmmmm, plugs for KTM, Hyosung, and Aprilia but no Triumphs, guess they haven't been around long enough.

If you email or call them I'm sure they can probably help...
Mine shipped out today according to the email, thats a nice turn around.

How do you safety wire a rubber hose with a plastic plug secured by a hose clamp? Just fold it up and zip tie it?

Thats your drain plug?

you would safety wire the hose clamp to a nearby screw or bolt.. just drill the bolt out.. let me check on diameter safety wire and the lockhart phillips drain plug.. if you get 1 spool of safety wire it will last you a lifetime.. also safety wire pliers are a must in my book.. it sucks trying to twist the wire by hand..

Ok, let me know, where are you guys buying safety wire? Is it a specific rated wire or just steel wire?
Also, if its not going to be warm for the april event, I'm not going to ride out there and freeze my ass off...

For safety wire I use a 0.008" but you can use 0.005" to 0.010" - preference really. Wouldn't go any larger than 0.010" but if you have some larger and your holes are big enough it is fine, just stronger really.. but if you are buying it I recommend that range..

You can get the safety wire pliers at Harbor Freight (one of the few things I recommend you get there). Here is what they look like: http://www.mcmaster.com/#safety-wire-pliers/=bjk7y6

there you go - best place to buy is a bike shop for sure.. then you know you should be getting the right stuff.. i originally got my lockhart phillips drain plug at macomb powersports but i wouldn't recommend them - it took them 2 months to get it and i had to drill out my existing plug to make the april track day - i was not happy.. i hear nothing but good things about HSOW though.. and you are an east sider so should be convenient for you..

I ordered the plug, and its on its way, I'm going to check, I think we might have safety wire at work...
