It's not really an even game unless they list their deducts and liabilities. I know I carry low deducts and high liabilities.

+1

Me too. And the type of bike makes a big difference. Fishman gets by for a coupe hundred bucks less than me, Kaw Vs. HD.

Where you live makes a difference. We got a 10% discount when we moved from Wayne Co. to Monroe Co.

I did a LOT of searching last year, hit every place I possibly could. Made sure they all had my current coverage so it was an apples to apples comp. Ended up back at Progressive. State Farm was cheaper but they don't offer roadside assistance on motorcycles. Stupid.

Allstate's price was the highest by a couple hundred bucks.

Do a search, this topic was thoughouly covered last year, there's probably a ton of good info in the old thread.

I always pay my $75 a year for my AAA membership... I think they tow bikes...
Either way, I noticed they will tow by mileage, makes no difference how much it costs... where as Allstate's card tows to $100 thats it.... weird..

Fatman... AAA will tow a bike... but only if you have the Gold Plus RV card. Then they tow to 100 miles, they'll even tow a trailer if the truck broke down, they tow both. They don't car who owns it or even if you were driving it. As long as you and the card is there at the time of pick up. But I think it costs $119 a year for that, and you can't get it till you have had basic (white card) for 5 years.

That all being said. I use State Farm for everything.

I carry on both bikes
500 collision deduct
100 comp deduct
250k/500k liability
100k property
25k medical
100k/300k uninsured

09 HD Nightster 1200
$684 a year

09 HD Ultra Classic FLHTCU
$729 a year

But I'm an insurance freak. I have a big coverages all around.

Oh and I have a clear/clean record at almost 32yrs old.

Love my AAA Plus RV for Roadside assistance :)
That said, I carry coverage similar to Gasman's on my '09 SPortster 1200 through Progressive and pay just about the same per year as he does.
And insurance cares as much about your credit as it does about your driving. And don't forget to factor in your C.L.U.E. score, which is your claims record. So comparisons will never be accurate.

I just reinsured my bike recently... State Farm doesn't have '1986 GSX-R750' listed for some stupid reason so they insured my bike as a GS700 for $33/mo Full Coverage.

I'm with ya Chris. I could pay about $350 but I pay $560 with all the bells and whistles.
Hell I even have a rider if my wife gets injured she can sue me. Adds $23 per year.

I pay $38.42/month through Progressive for my 2000 R1. Just switched over from Allstate. I have Liability ($50,000/$100,000) + equal uninsured motorist coverage and comprehensive coverage with a $500 deductible.

No collision coverage but not a bad rate for being 21 and riding a sportbike.

I think I am now at about $80 a month if I keep collision on it, when its in storage it drops significantly to like $33 a month...
But thats to be expected with the B-King.
