Im just looking for places in Michigan Ideally near Grand Rapids that have open track days where I can safely go out onto a track and see what I can do. Not looking for any racing just the ability to ride on a track. Any help?

Yeah and mudpuppy constantly goes to both of those. I'm sure he's up to speed for which track day vendors to go thru and which not to.

I did Grattan twice with Apex2Apex and really liked them.

Mudpuppy knows the men's showers really well if you need a tour.

Do you know anything about cost and gear? I mean what all will it cost me/will I need to get on the track? full leathers im assuming? do I need anything special on my license outside of just a motorcycle endorsement?

Thanks Bob :D

www.sportbiketracktime.com has the exclusive on all Grattan and Gingerman track days for bikes. They are a decent outfit. Expect about $150 per day and any membership (one time) fee they have ($35 I think). Grattan has been repaved and repaved several dozen times over the last couple of years. It is always the same - looks like shit but traction everywhere and the better of the two tracks layout and technical wise. Gingerman added like 1,500-1,800 feet of track this year which is really cool. But they still lack elevation changes as it is a flat flat very flat track but still fun to ride.

Best time to go is during the week when the idiots crashing into you aren't there like on the weekends.

If you need more info just let me know. I could talk for a week about track days.
