I've always just road with blue jeans with a set of Icon field armor knee and shin guards under them. But I'm thinking of looking for some riding pants. I want pants to put over my jeans that will be easy on and off and not get hot. I also don't want to spend a fortune. I've heard good things about the Icon ARC textile pants so far.

I have the Cortech DSX jeans. They have some kevlar in them as well as knee pads (I don't wear the pads cause they don't seem to fit right, you'd be better off with your Icons). Pretty comfortable and I haven't ripped them yet in three seasons, plus they're baggy enough to wear shorts or long johns under for cold days. I got them off eBay for around $75

I have a pair of JR armored mesh textile I wear over jeans in cool weather or over shorts in hot weather, works for me.

I was calling you a fish head because that is an insult in Germany.. you didn't catch it.. that is what people in the south of germany call the people in the north of germany.. it's not as funny when you have to explain it but it amused me because you were confused ja?

Bought a pair of leather overpants. Zippers up the sides so easy to put on over boots.

Never really saw the point with chaps.

And yes i do have a chain wallet, worn it for years (long before it was the in thing)

I love my Cortech jacket so I'd feel more than comfortable going with Cortech or Tourmaster again. Thanks!

Nein is what the German girl said at the stag party. And the guy replied, "I'm only number 6"!

Anybody every try the draggin brand jeans or kevlar shirt? I'm looking for some riding pants, and something to wear when its too hot for the leather jacket.

I usually wear the draggin or Diamond Gusset kevlar jeans over either regular jeans or work pants when going to work. I Also wear the kevlar draggin shirt under my mesh jacket. It might be hot in the summer, but it sure beats wearing IV bags in a hospital!!

if your riding in jeans , you can put kevlar or whatever in the slide points but there is still no impact protection . go ahead and ask . just get some good leather with impact pads and you wont be sorry

Absolutely correct Snofrog, I also use solid shin guards over my regular jeans or dress pants (when commuting to work) then put the kevlar jeans over those guards, thus I have essentially 2 pairs of pants I ride in. Even when it's hot, 2 pairs plus the guards is not a big deal for the protection.

Yea, my plan is the kevlar jeans, and an overpant with some armor... but textile rather than leather I think...

Been looking for some locally... Paul & I and maybe Wally too might go to a couple places this week to find some...

Oh, and I picked up a Fulmer mesh jacket that has armor in it too when its too hot for the leather...
Wonder if they make pants too...

if you get a chance , do a search for burn through textile jacket or pants . everyone has a limit to what we feel is safe enough ... just saying

I said I was going to add the kevlar pants under the textile pants.
I wear the leather almost always for the jacket.
The other thought was the kevlar shirts I have seen as well to go under the mesh jacket. You have to be able to ride and not over heat as well... thats a dangerous situation as well.

Today I went over to K&W and found a helpful sales guy named Tom Beagle.
He offered to order in a pair of pants I like so that I can try them on, and make sure they work with my leather jacket zipper.
He said if they dont fit, they will order in the next size, so, I think I will support the local guy.

Yeah, Rich, Randy and I stopped in there and looked through some brochures, the staff was helpful but with my fat a$$ I gotta try something on. We ended up out at Rocky's where they had 30-40 pairs of textiles. Came home wearing Tourmaster Caliper pants and wished I gotten something like these years ago. Warm, comfortable and worked great out at Graten Raceway's track day! Should be great Winter Spring and Fall, not sure if they will be to hot for summer but we will find out soon enough.

These have the zip out areas that actually come off completely, so I am hoping they are not too hot for summer...
