I'll be meeting some people from the Macomb GLRC at the Shell Station on Ann Arbor Road @ I-275 around 11:00, then riding the few miles over to the cookoff if anyone wants to meet up.

If anyone wants to hook up farther west, Fishman and me are going to meet at Moonwinks Cafe, 5150 Plymouth Road in Dixboro. It has an AA address if you google it. We'll be leaving there no later than 10:30 to make the Shell station by around 11:00.

And as SportsersPaul knows, 10:30 means 10:30!

They have reserved street parking for bikes, it says 'Donations will be collected". The entire event is for local charities. Voting for the bike show is $1 per vote, chili samples are $1, etc.

Thought about that, but Motor City is almost as far from Plymouth as I am, but in the opposite direction.

Note!

Just in case anyone is planning to meet up with us, we'll be staging at the gas station across the street from the Shell. I think it's a BP.

i will be there probably around 1ish.. most likely won't be riding and will have like 60 kids with me.. i'll be wearing my black deal's gap shirt or my black wos shirt.. just look for a shell of a man who has had all his hopes and dreams completely sucked out of him (not in a good way) by being fucked over by the government, society in general and of course marriage.. i usually have a blank stare and sometimes walk into walls.. i also take millions of pictures with a nikon d3000..

wait - i got an idea - look for the dude with some tattoos - yeah that should narrow it down..

All you have to do is NOT wear a do rag, then you'll stand out!

I won't be wearing one either, we should be able to locate each other pretty quick.

Man I've never seen so many people in downtown Plymouth let alone the bikes. I had no idea how big that event was.

I was just looking at Wong's pictures on Facebook. Looked like a huge turn out. I for real thought it was like going to be 20 bikes and a bunch of people eating chili. Some nice bikes it looks like from his pics.

Yeah, 10K bikes would be a pretty freaking big show I'd say for Michigan.

5K wouldn't be surprising. There were so many bikes they had to cancel the skill riding demonstration due to lack of space. Main St and AA trail were jammed with bikes in both directions. All the parking lots were jammed. We parked on top of the parking structre, and when we were leaving we spent about 20 minutes watching the circus from up there. I'll post some pics tomorrow afternoon, just got home from moving my dad.

You must not pay attention to your own forum! This is one of the largest bike events around. Over 100 different chili recipes/contestants. You could hardly walk around down there.

I was laughing as we were leaving because the second we pulled out other bikes took the spots before we were barely out of them.

Yeah, I saw them waiting. It was survival of the fittest! We watched one guy down below moving other people's bikes to get out, they blocked him in.
