Was a great trip. Left warren, MI on the 28th of Aug. on are way to Erwin, Tenn my wife's dad live there. More or less rode the scenic route 75 to 480 to us 23 all the way. That was a few miles the Vulcan 900's his and hers did very well. Stop in Kentucky for the night was time to rest the butt mine you us 23 is not all highway so is a bit slower ride but the sites to see are worth it. Got rained on some where in Ohio was a fast downpour had to pull over for that one but over fast then a few sprinklers here and there for a bit no big deal. Arrive in Erwin sometime sun morning around eleven. Had to spend the day with her dad that was OK cause Monday we leaving to N.C. her mom lives there Ash ville N.C. So Monday we off going though the mountains to get there. One think for sure route your way thru the mountains. Arrived sometime monday afternoon at her house that was a lot of fun for sure. On are way there stopped a little restaurant called mommy's kitchen about the only place around to eat for miles the southerns are a very nice bunch of people for sure. Food was great we the only ones in there its monday not to many people out on a weekday so we was treated like a king and queen was fun place to stop. Also there know the mountains very well told as about a few roads to go to get to her moms. That was fun these roads i would never had though about. OK so we at her moms now. Was a 7 day trip lots to do yet. So to make a long story a little shorter Wow the Smokey mountains what a place to see on motorcycles. There is not one bad road to go ride the blueridge was great but you have to hit them side roads to have the most fun. Hit all the sites there like sliding rock, the Cherokee Reservation did hit the casino there lol lost 20 bucks was fun,bat cave, chimney rock, cradle of forestry, and just about all the roads in that area. Was a blast the hairpin turns the downhill runs coasting most of the way down only using brakes the speed limit on most these non posted roads 50 miles an hour yea right them turns can be deadly!!!! So just to much to say about the place but was time to go home. so us 23 to 15 to 75 home was a 1600 mile trip Had a corbin seat butt was doing just fine. If you never gone there you have to go for sure one thing was nice having a nice meal and a bed to sleep in was great free room and board her moms thks mom!!! she has an old farmhouse on a hill very nice. cause if i had to pay for the nights there would have been $$$. Whole trip was about 100.00 in gas love the mileage on motorcycles. Also a few pics of trip posted.
