I read that earlier, it blows.

Side note: I hate when the articles say that the rider had on a helmet. For one, it never says what kind of helmet. He could of had a freaking yamaka on his head and had close to no protection. Or he could of had a full face helmet on and took a tree to the chest or something.

Because no one but a biker gives a shit. There is no 'full-face helmet law', Or 'modular helmet law', just a helmet law. That's all the public cares about. The media's perception is Helmet = safe, no helmet = not safe. Public opinion is an extension of the media.

BTW, this story made the local news tonight.

I have to give props to the version of the story I read - The article made note to mention that speeding, alcohol, and drugs were not a factor in the incident. With so many media outlets trashing motorcyclists, sportbike riders especially, it's nice to know that they made the point that he was riding responsibly and just got screwed by mother nature.

Goes to show you that anything can happen at any time, no matter how you're riding.
