This Saturday I'm going to go for a short ride with a buddy of mine from around Rockwood if anyone wants to go you are more than welcome. We are going to meet at 8:00 and ride until whenever. I have to be back by 11:00 but anyone else can ride as long as they want. I have no idea where we are going. I usually just let my buddy, Tony, lead and take me wherever. LOL Usually he heads south towards Toledo or West toward like Irish Hills or Dundee. Not sure where we'll meet yet. If nobody from here is going I'll probably just ride to his house. If some of you guys want to go I'll pick a meet spot.

I would love to but I'm working night shift so I'll be sleeping. If I skip my sleep that will mess me up for days...

I am going to ride Saturday - was going to post something up but I am doing the WSL. Actually Redline is riding then too so I am going to be joining them. Anyone is welcome - 10am at North Territorial and US23 is the meet time / spot - will verify if it is Sunoco or Shell then post something up official.

I think we might head towards Ann Arbor via back roads and back.

Everyone ride safe and watch for drunk cagers.

i was wondering how you did a tire change with a big lift like that. man i want one of those it would be a hell of a lot easier than a swing arm stand.

Had a really nice ride. We headed to Milan and then to Ann Arbor. Very little traffic so that's always a plus. My bike cut out on me when I ran out of gas, which was weird because most bikes I've had sputtered a little and I had time to swap to the reserve. And while leaning over to turn the reserve on I burnt my leg on the pipes so this morning I made a heat shield for it, hopefully it works. LOL

Well crap. I thought about going along, but figured by the time I rode to Elizabeth Park at 7:00, then you had to be back by 11, it wasn't worth it. You probably rode right past my house. Had I known that I might've tagged along for a while.

I was actually home by 10:30 too. LOL It was about 100 mile trip. I could not tell you exactly what route we took or what cities we went through but I know I was in Milan and Ann Arbor at some points.

I also forgot to mention my white wall on my rear tire was black from the chain lube. I need to strip all of the lube that is on the chain. I'm going to try and grab some kerosene today and give that a try.

Use an old tooth brush too!!

Yeah, I have one of those and an actual chain brush. I was going to do it right now but after one spray of kerosene a ton of oil came off so I'm going to do it in the morning and do it over the grass.

I use to put a piece of cardboard under the bike when I did it.

Kerosene&oil over the grass? Hopes it's not any grass u wanted to see again:D

Bob
07-05-2010, 09:02 PM
No no no. When I do it over the grass I put down an old piece of carpeting to catch it all. We have a brand new driveway and I'd rather toss down some new seed than have to get the driveway cleaned. LOL Anyway, the kerosene seemed to work well.

Gas Man

oh the kero will work real good!!!

And I hear ya on keeping the driveway clean... I was exercising that today when I had to help caveman on changing his front calipers on his Doudche. Plus rotate the tires. And this pic was pre-job... the cardboard was soaked with old brake fluid due to diconnecting the lines and because Caveman is messy. We'll just leave it at that.

Just goes to show... Gas Man garage goes to 4 wheels

I spent some time out in the garage making some templates and jigs for some guy that wants to build his own speaker cabs. My best friend out there is one of those 20" high velocity fans.
