In the saying; "It's about the ride, not the bike"-

Here's a guy who lives in Illinois, is unemployed, had an idea, and with lots of planning and working it out,* did what most folks only think about.

He got on his bike and rode across America. 7500 miles or so, but this guy did it on a Honda Rebel. (a 250cc bike if you don't know)

Here's a link with his self written story and photos: http://www.pashnit.com/forum/showthread.php?t=18512

(web site is kinda cool too-again, about the riding...)

That thread is three pages long, but his stuff is only the first page. Read his story to the end; he made the mother of all mistakes just before he got home. Kind of a bitch too because he made it a point to do bike checks and maintenance during the trip. But then he forgets one little bolt.....* ::)

Good Story, my buddy Serp does that trip every two years or so.* I hope to someday do something similar.

Here is his site, if any of you want to check it out... he is one of my heroes...

Over 500,000 miles and still counting...* anyway... awesome post...
