I've had a coworker telling me about a new Kid Rock song that is available for download from Jim Beam. I haven't gotten around to checking into it until today. I couldn't find a studio version anywhere without the Jim Beam code, but I did come across a YouTube video of him performing it live at Comerica Park. I tend to be a music junky as it is, but this performance just blew me away. I'm not ashamed at all to say I got a bit "misty eyed" watching it. It really hits home being a "blue collar guy" trying to stay afloat in these dismal times. While Detroit is a shithole and the Michigan economy is damn near DOA, I couldn't imagine calling anywhere else "home". This song just hits it right on the head. Take a listen:

Wow, and I thought ours was tight. Hell, we can't even look up the winning lottery numbers because it's "gambling". Although, you can't look up a band's website because it is classified as "entertainment", you CAN go on TicketMaster's website and buy tickets for their show. Whoever over in India that's in charge of internet filtering is a moron. But we can watch YouTube all day long...just get a window that pops up that says "Avoid streaming media to conserve bandwidth"...with a "Continue" link right under it. Yeah...THAT's effective.

Yeah, for mine its the IT dept. They use to run websense but now they just block things internally. utube or anything video, porn, even the vids on news sites... not that it matters. Even if you find a streaming vid that works, the connection is so slow it don't work anyway.

Watched it at home. Not bad. I hear what you mean. Its a good song and you can tell he luvs this place.

I'm with ya on that its a shit hole but when I'm out of town, I'm proud to say I'm from Detroit.

Funny story... while in PA, 2 weekends ago... one guy said... "Oh Detroit, murder capital of the nation, where people murder for capital." I simply replied... "Yep, that's the one." LOL

My favorite is when people take 2 steps back when you answer "Detroit"...like you're going to suddenly shank them or something. It's happened more than once...

Amen bro. I am not going anywhere. I hear a lot of people can't wait to get out of Michigan - good riddens mfrs. I will be here as long as I can make a living and take care of my family.
