New to here but been riding for 20+years. I've ridden 72 Sportster, 75 Sportster, 75 Superglide, 98 Buell S3, and current ride is a 01 Buell X1. I'm gettign ready to tear the Buell apart to turn into a bobber/chopper style like my old 70's Harley's were fashioned after.

Looking forward to hanging out around "here",

Bob

Sorry I haven't been back to respond sooner. Thanks for the welcome. I hope to be around more often.

Seatmaker, I drive by you all the time then. I'm basically at Chilson & Bishop Lk Rd (walking distance to Bishop Lk). I head Pettysville 4-5 times a week, I bet.

As for my name... working in machine shops, you pick up nick names. Having long hair, the "hippie" part was an obvious choice for those guys and I just started using it myself. The rest spawned from my side archery business where I would "frankenstein" parts from different compound bow mfr's to make something better or unique. My customers called me "Dr. Frankenhippie" and I just shortened it.

So now I'm looking to "frankenstein" my Buell into more of a bobber/digger/chopper style bike... more my style.

I will dig up some pics of my bikes and get them posted too.

Welcome to the nuthouse Franken.

And the girl in Gas's sig is saying (I'm pretty sure anyway)

"take me wango,,,,,take me now"

BTW... added a few bike pics to my photo album. My old shovelhead, which I still wish I hadn't sold. LOL My current ride is the '01 Buell X1 and then a pic of a bike mock up very similar to what the Buell will look like soon.... minus the tank in the pic.

Gas's sig reminds of this though.... LOL

I will let you know next time. That's the second time in two weekends I headed that way. I've decided I like riding 36. :)

you can make a nice loop by dropping down to Darwin rd./Patterson Lk. Rd via Dexter-Pinckney Rd just as you come into Pinckney. Patterson Lk will take you thru Hell and dead-ends basically in Gregory. Stone throw north to M36 to double back on. A stop at the Dam Site for a burger or pop is almost always.... entertaining. LOL :D

Roads get a little choppy out towards Gregory but not terribly so. M36 is long slow curves all the way back in to Pinckney.

You can always head north up D19 outta Pinckney too. It was blacktopped a few years. Nice smooth ride all the way up too Howell. Easy access right there on to I96.

OR... you could continue on Dexter-Pinkcney Rd south to N Territorial. Make a left... you're heading back towards US23 or you can take to Pontiac Trail. Make a right... you're heading toward Chelsea/Stockbridge.

Lots of options out my way. ;)

or you can hop on Unadilla (Hadley) Road and then there is an east-west road (can't remember the name) that runs west into stockbridge that is a good run.. then from there you can hit all kinds of good roads..

Yeah, I was looking out that way when we rode out to Hell the weekend before last. We just ran out of time. Now that NG is an M36 junkie, we'll end out that way at some point I'm sure.

M36 is a good gateway road - like to Hell or Gregory but other than that it's not much better than say US23 or I96.. there are way better roads out there.. Hadley is not bad for a short road.. Catholic Church Road is decent.. there are countless others.. Actually North Territorial that turns into Territorial and I believe goes most if not all the way to Lansing has some good spots in it.. Williamston Road, Dexter Trail, Bunkerhill.. the list goes on and on.. Actually too M36 gets decent and gets you too a lot of good roads if you take it North (West) out of Gregory and it starts to head West.. If you take it far enough just before 127 you can turn left on Dexter Trail and take that back to Williamston.. or you can pick up Williamston in Dansville off M36..
