Preliminary estimates of dead in the hundreds of thousands, maybe a half million. They're stacking bodies of kids outside the schools that collapsed on top them.

Most of the buildings down there are stacked block with only a bit of mortar in between, no reinforcement of any kind. Embasies, hospitals, schools, police stations, and a lot of other buildings are collapsed. The UN building that was the center for humanitarian aid has collapsed too. The only good thing so far is the airport is open.

I'm not the kind of person that thinks the US has a responsibility to run around the world and rescue everyone, but those people need help. China, Russia, Iceland, Taiwan, France, Canada, Cuba, the UK, and others are sending assistance.

and I agree these people need serious help..

The world would be so much a better place if we stopped all the bullshit with the monetary system and politics as well as the farce they call religion based on fictional higher beings.. we have massive resources in this world - NO ONE should go without having the basic needs met of food, shelter and water.. that is why we need a new system worldwide and it will happen but probably not in our lifetime - check it out though, this is the future: www.thezeitgeistmovement.com (http://www.thezeitgeistmovement.com)

The US is sending help, I just saw that the first plane loads landed today and an air craft carrier is scheduled to dock tomorrow.
